A Brief Photographic History of Mister ArtSee

In 2005, a small group of dedicated art professionals, artists, architects, designers, curators, historians, and patrons came together to create a national symbol for arts and arts education. A kind of "Smokey Bear" for the arts that could also exist and function as an arts experience.

Mister ArtSee is the first of a series of ArtSee vehicles that not only act as a mascot for the arts but also as a platform of awareness online and in real world engagement, for the arts, technology, and design. Future vehicles will be an open source to a variety of designers to participate in their design and operation.

Mister Artsee was founded by artist and educator Elliott Arkin. After initial consultations with Vito Acconci Studios, the first Mister ArtSee vehicle was designed in collaboration with architect Dario Nunez Ameni and the ArtSee group of artists, engineers, fabricators and designers.
